Holland Park Swim Club Squad Information

Our squads are overseen by our head coach, Phil Hughes.
Phil is a bronze licence coach with 12 years experience. Phil joined the club three years ago moving from Sydney with his family. During his time in Sydney, Phil worked in various swim schools and clubs. His last appointment was with a competitive club where he was in charge of the metropolitan/state competition squads as well as assisting the head coach with the open national swimmers.
Phil brings a depth of experience and knowledge to our club and since joining Holland Park, Phil has made a substantial contribution to the club progression and standing.
There are three levels of squad on offer.
| Superfish squad | A 45 minute intro squad where children are developing strong technique and are introduced to the racing skills. Recommended 1-2 sessions per week. |
| Junior squad | A 1 hour session where the swimmers are now developing a strong aerobic base of fitness while still developing technique and racing skills. Recommended 1-3 sessions per week. |
| Senior squad | A 2 hour session with 20-30 minutes of dry land exercising and stretching before the swim. This squad's focus is moved to developing speed and endurance while still continuing the basis of strong technique and improving the racing skills. Recommended 2-6 sessions per week. |

NEW CLASSES FOR 2012. Robyn, one of our new Swim Teachers / Coaches, is a qualified Aqua Fitness Instructor and Baby / Toddler Swim Teacher. Robyn has offered to conduct two new classes, commencing from 23 January 2012.
